Jesus' Return With The Saints

In this blog I am going to reveal scripture from the New Testiment that pertains to Jesus' 2nd coming.  My next blog will show scripture from the Old Testiment that pertains to this event and what it will look like.  When completing Revelation Chapter 9, we see Jesus returning with His saints to execute His wrath against the armies of the world.  At this time, all the armies of the world will be under the direction of Satan.  We know that 3 1/2 years before the end of this age that Satan and his demons are going to be cast down to the earth.  This is revealed in Revelation Chapter 12, verses7-9;

                (7)"And there was a war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the
                dragon.  And the dragon and his angels waged war,(8) and they were not strong
                enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.(9) And the
                great dragon was thrown down, the serpant of old who is called the devil and Satan,
                who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels
                were thrown down with him.

We know that even today that Satan has access to the earth from the heavenly realm.  One place this has been revealed is in the apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians where he writes this in the 6th Chapter in verse 12;

                "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
                 powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of
                 wickedness in the heavenly places."

Satan's role as of today is to war against the saints, with his demons from the spiritual realm.  He also acts as the accuser of the saints before God day and night.  This is revealed in Revelation Chapter 12, verse 10;

                 "And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now the salvation, and the power,
                 and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the
                 accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before God
                 day and night.'"

When Satan and his demons are cast down to the earth it is going to be a different type of manifestation than it is now.  What exactly, I don't know.  What I do know is that they will be allowed to cause much destruction.  Will some of them be visible?  I don't know either.  If they are, then where will they say they came from?

In Revelation Chapter 13 it reveals how much time Satan is given when he is cast down to the earth, when in verse 5 it says this;

                 "And there was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies;
                 and authority to act for forty-two months was given him."

It is revealed in Revelation Chapter 16, verses 13 and 14, that this will occur right before Jesus returns with His saints;

                 (13)And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan) and out of the
                 mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean
                 spirits like frogs;(14) for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which
                 go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of
                 the great day of God, the Almighty."

Then in Revelation Chapter 11, verse 18, it reveals this about why His wrath is coming;

                 " and the nation were enraged and thy wrath came, and the time came for the
                 dead to be judged, and the time to give their reward to thy bond-servants the
                 prophets and to the saints and those who fear Thy name, the small and the
                 great, AND TO DESTROY THOSE WHO ARE DESTROYING THE EARTH."

When Satan is cast down to the earth with 3 1/2 before Jesus returns, he will go on a spree of destruction such has never been.  Jesus reveals this in the 24th Chapter of the gospel of Matthew, after being asked by the desciples as to the sign of His coming and the end of the age. In verses 15,16,21 and 22, Jesus told them this;

                (15)"Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken
                of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place,(16) then let those in
                Judea flee to the mountains,(21) for then there will be a great tribulation, such
                has not occured since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.
                (22) And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved;
                but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short."

If Jesus does not intervene, Satan would destroy all life from the face of the earth.  After Jesus executes His wrath, He will rule over the earth for a thousand years.  He will need some life to survive so man can repopulate the earth.  The abomination of desolation comes right after the king of Tyre, who dies from a fatal wound at the same time Satan is cast out of heaven, comes back to life in the power of Satan.  Then this Satan filled king will come against Israel and overtake them and seat himself in the temple in Jerusalem, making claims of being God.  This is the abomination that makes desolate.  After that he will go on a spree of destruction such has never been.  The apostle Paul wrote about this in his 2nd letter to the the Thessalonians.  Paul wrote this in response to claims by some people that the day of the Lord had already occured.  In Chapter 2, verses 1-10;

                (1)" Now we request you, brethren, with reguard to the coming of our Lord
                Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to Him,(2) that you may not be quickly
                shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a
                letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.(3) Let no one
                in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy........

The apostasy is a falling away from the faith by those who were christians in name only and had never beeen born of the Spirit, as Jesus required, by a true trust in Jesus as their Savior. These who fall away will choose the deceptions of Satan in the first half of the tribulation period when there will be a false peace and safety and a time of prosperity. They will not be willing resist the belittling of the Christians by the world and they will choose to not be numbered in the company of the saints.

                .....comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of DESTRUCTION,
                (4) who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship,
                so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
                (5) Do you not remember that while I was with you, I was telling you these things?
                (6) And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he may be revealed.
                (7) For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains
                will do so untill he is taken out of the way.(8) And then the lawless one will be
                revealed whom the Lord will remove with the breath of His mouth and bring to an
                end by the appearance of His coming;(9) that is, the one whose coming is in accord
                with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,(10) and with
                all deception of wickedness for those who perish, because THEY DID NOT
                RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH SO AS TO BE SAVED"

So Jesus' wrath will come to stop Satan from destroying the earth and murdering lives, and all the people who chose to reject Jesus' free gift of eternal life, will perish.

Then as we just covered in Revelation Chapter 19, verses 11-16;

                (11)"And I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is
                called Faithful and True; and in righteousness He judges and wages war.(12) And
                His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems; and He has a
                name written upon Him which no one knows except Himself.(13) And He is clothed
                with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called the Word of God.(14) And the
                armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean (the saints), were
                following Him on white horses.(15) And from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so
                that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and
                He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God the Almighty."

In 1st Thessalonians Chapter 3, verses12 and 13, Paul gives a a beautiful prayer when he says this;

                (12)"and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another,
                and for all men, just as we also do for you,(13) so that He may establish your
                hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our
                Lord Jesus with all His saints.
